We've got pretty deep roots.
Haack's Farm Greenhouses began nearly 26 years ago when Glen decided to build his first greenhouse on his family's farm in Armada, Mi. Glen was only 15 at the time and still in high school, but then knew that caring for plants was his life-long dream.
Glen's parents fully supported him in his efforts and helped him to sell his plants and produce at Detroit's Eastern Market. Eventually, Glen's passion led him to build two more greenhouses-but as you can imagine, this meant he needed extra help! Soon his sister, cousins, school teacher and friends all enlisted to help Glen's business grow.
I, Sabrina later joined the group, working at the greenhouses and caring for the plants. It wasn't long before Glen and I caught each other's eye, and after a few years, we were married. In September of 1994, we welcomed our first son Zack to the family. Then in December, we decided to relocate our greenhouses - now numbering 5 - and start our own family farm in Columbus, Mi.
Over the past 16 years, our family has grown to include Alex, Nick, Thomas. All four boys are expert growers like mom and dad, and help us keep the greenhouses looking beautiful. We now focus most of our time at the Columbus greenhouses, but we've also added a second location in Fort Gratiot to accommodate customer demand. The whole family agrees, the best part about our job is that we can spend every day together, doing what we love.
